ICA Launches the “Women Recovery Leaders” Initiative to Empower Female Heads of Households in Syria

Damascus, Syria — May 15, 2026

As part of its commitment to universal humanitarian values and its vision of transforming knowledge and training into tools for sustainable development, the International Cultural Academy in Germany, in cooperation with the League of Levantine Women in Damascus, has announced the launch of its integrated development program package aimed at supporting and empowering women in communities emerging from wars and conflicts.

This project comes as an urgent humanitarian response targeting the most vulnerable groups, foremost among them women who have lost their family provider, widows, and the mothers and wives of victims and martyrs, who have endured the harsh conditions of war and suddenly found themselves responsible for managing and supporting their families alone in highly complex economic and social environments.

From Emergency Response to Sustainable Dignity

The Academy’s initiative goes beyond the concept of temporary relief assistance by offering sustainable, root-based solutions that protect women’s dignity. This is reflected in the design of four complementary vocational and educational tracks:

1. Advanced Craft Tracks — Sewing and Crochet: These tracks aim to equip women with productive skills that are in high demand in the local market, transforming handicrafts into income-generating projects that protect them from economic hardship.

2. Technical and Practical Tracks — Hair Care and Beauty: These tracks provide independent professions that can generate quick and direct financial returns suited to the needs of supporting children.

3. Digital Technical Track — Computer Science: This track aims to reduce digital illiteracy among women and provide them with the basic skills needed to manage resources, engage in marketing, integrate into the modern economy, and keep pace with the labor market.

Restoring the Family and Building the Community

Empowering women who have endured the suffering of conflict is not merely individual support; it is an investment in the structure of society as a whole:

• Protecting the Family: Economically and psychologically empowering female heads of households is the first guarantee for protecting children from school dropout and child labor, while improving the health and educational quality of life of the next generation.

• Community Recovery: The project contributes to reintegrating the groups most affected by war into the economic cycle, transforming their latent resilience into productive capacity that advances early recovery and community stability.

Voluntary Effort and Absolute Integrity

The International Cultural Academy has distinguished itself by delivering this project through a fully voluntary system, where experts, trainers, and coordinators have joined efforts to offer their skills and experience without any financial compensation, driven by a moral responsibility to support these groups. This model assures donors and international partners that all resources directed to the project are invested directly and very practically in the field production environment and in serving the targeted women.

A Call for Partnership and Comprehensive Funding

Through its success in laying the foundation for this development model using its own efforts, the International Cultural Academy now opens the door for international organizations, donors, and humanitarian partners to contribute to funding and expanding the scope of this project. الأكاديمية الثقافية الدولية تطلق مبادرة "رائدات التعافي" لتمكين معيلات الأسر في سوريا

في إطار التزامها بالقيم الإنسانية العالمية ورؤيتها في تحويل المعرفة والتدريب إلى أدوات للتنمية المستدامة، أعلنت الأكاديمية الثقافية الدولية في ألمانيا بالتعاون مع رابطة سيدات الشام في دمشق عن إطلاق حزمة برامجها التنموية المتكاملة والموجهة لدعم وتمكين النساء في المجتمعات الخارجة من الحروب والنزاعات.

يأتي هذا المشروع كاستجابة إنسانية مُلحة تستهدف الفئات الأكثر هشاشة، وفي مقدمتهن النساء اللواتي فقدن المعيل، والأرامل، وأمهات وزوجات الضحايا والشهداء، ممن واجهن ظروف الحرب القاسية ووجدن أنفسهن فجأة أمام مسؤولية إدارة وإعالة أسرهن بمفردهن في بيئات اقتصادية واجتماعية بالغة التعقيد.

من الاستجابة الطارئة إلى الكرامة المستدامة

تتجاوز مبادرة الأكاديمية مفهوم المساعدات الإغاثية المؤقتة إلى تقديم حلول جذرية مستدامة تحمي كرامة المرأة. ويتجلى ذلك في تصميم أربعة مسارات تأهيلية وعلمية تكمل بعضها بعضاً:

1. المسارات الحرفية المتقدمة (الخياطة والكروشيه): لتمكين السيدات من مهارات إنتاجية ذات طلب عالٍ في السوق المحلية، وتحويل الحرف اليدوية إلى مشاريع مدرّة للدخل تحميهن من العوز الاقتصادي.

2. المسارات الفنية والعملية (العناية بالشعر والتزيين): لتوفير مهن مستقلة تضمن عوائد مالية سريعة ومباشرة تتناسب مع احتياجات إعالة الأطفال.

3. المسار التقني الرقمي (علوم الحاسوب): لمحو الأمية الرقمية لدى المرأة، وتزويدها بالمهارات الأساسية اللازمة لإدارة الموارد، والتسويق، والاندماج في الاقتصاد الحديث ومواكبة سوق العمل.

ترميم الأسرة وبناء المجتمع

إن تمكين المرأة التي عاشت ويل النزاعات ليس مجرد دعم فردي، بل هو استثمار في بنية المجتمع ككل:

• حماية الأسرة: إن تمكين "المرأة المعيلة" اقتصادياً ونفسياً هو الضمانة الأولى لحماية الأطفال من التسرب المدرسي وعمالة الأطفال، وتحسين جودة الحياة الصحية والتعليمية للجيل القادم.

• التعافي المجتمعي: يسهم المشروع في إعادة دمج الفئات الأكثر تضرراً من الحرب في الدورة الاقتصادية، وتحويل طاقات الصمود الكامنة لديهن إلى قوة إنتاجية تدفع بعجلة التعافي المبكر والاستقرار المجتمعي للأمام.

جهد تطوعي ونزاهة مطلقة

تميزت الأكاديمية الثقافية الدولية بتقديم هذا المشروع عبر منظومة تطوعية بالكامل، حيث تظافرت جهود الخبراء والمدربين والمنسقين لتقديم كفاءاتهم وخبراتهم دون أي مقابل مالي، مدفوعين بالمسؤولية الأخلاقية تجاه مساندة هذه الفئات. يضمن هذا النموذج للمانحين والشركاء الدوليين أن كافة الموارد الموجهة للمشروع تُستثمر بشكل مباشر ومباشر جداً في بيئة الإنتاج الميداني وخدمة السيدات المستهدفات.

دعوة للشراكة والتمويل الشامل

إن الأكاديمية الثقافية الدولية، ومن خلال نجاحها في وضع الحجر الأساس لهذا النموذج التنموي بجهودها الذاتية، تفتح الباب اليوم أمام المنظمات الدولية، والجهات المانحة، والشركاء الإنسانيين للمساهمة في تمويل وتوسيع نطاق هذا المشروع. إن دعمكم لن يسهم في تمويل دورات تدريبية فحسب، بل سيشارك في تأسيس بنية تحتية مستدامة لتمكين المرأة وتحويل صمودها إلى استقرار اقتصادي دائم لها ولأطفالها.

وفي هذا السياق، صرّحت الأستاذة ربى زادة مديرة التعليم والبرامج التدريبية في الأكاديمية: "نحن لا نمنح السيدة مهنة فحسب، بل نعيد بناء الأمل من وسط الركام، ونصنع مع معيلات الأسر شراكة حقيقية تبدأ من التدريب وتنتهي بالإنتاج والاعتماد الكامل على الذات."
